Taj Dyson

Ph.D. Candidate in Physics, admitted Autumn 2021

Taj is a 4th year physics graduate student in Chao-Lin Kuo’s group working primarily on ADMX-VERA, testing prototype high-frequency axion haloscopes. During his undergraduate degree in Physics at McGill University, he worked on autonomous power systems and RFI detection for ALBATROS, deploying to the McGill Arctic Research Station and Uapishka Station. While at Stanford, he had a brief stint testing thermal kinetic inductance detectors for BICEP. Now he splits his time between fabricating and testing resonators for ADMX-VERA, running a dark photon search with a VERA resonator, testing traveling wave parametric amplifiers for ultra low-noise readout, and analysis both for the ADMX collaboration’s current axion search and the planned ADMX-EFR. Other than all of that, Taj likes testing out board game ideas, cooking, and the great outdoors.
