Riley Carpenter

PhD Student in Applied Physics at Stanford
Summer 2023 & 2024 Intern, SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory

Riley Carpenter is an undergraduate at Santa Clara University (Class of ’25) studying engineering physics with a materials science emphasis. These past two summers, Riley has been working with the DMQIS group on various materials characterization projects in an effort to develop fabrication processes for low temperature detectors. Recently, this work has involved evaluating the viability of different low-critical-temperature superconductors for use in qubit-based dark matter detectors.
