Devani Scott
Summer intern, SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory
Devani is a rising fourth-year physics major and chemistry minor at San José State University with a strong interest in nuclear fusion and its potential to transform the global energy landscape. She is building on her foundation in physics and chemistry as she prepares for graduate studies with the goal of advancing sustainable, high-impact energy technologies. This summer, Devani worked with DMQIS on instrumentation for HVeV detector characterization using a MEMS calibration system. In parallel, she developed a thermometer package to better define payload cooldown. Together, these efforts in calibration and thermal monitoring deepened understanding of detector characterization, an essential step in the ongoing search for dark matter.
