Alexis Spence
Science Undergraduate Laboratory Intern (SULI), SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory
Alexis is a Junior at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, majoring in Physics with a minor in Professional Theater. Her research interests consist of astrophysics and high-energy particle physics. Within DMQIS, Alexis works on instrumentation and data collection for the HVeV detector and MEMS calibration system. Her project centers on mapping the relationship between physical layout and voltage space of the MEMS calibrator. She also contributed to efforts to characterize "Low Energy Excess" (LEE) - a background signal that currently limits detector sensitivity to sub-GeV dark matter candidates.
